Classes and schedules
TheYogaShala: Online - Offline Hybrid Module
As recent conditions make it difficult to conduct in-campus Teacher Training Course (TTC), TheYogaShala has come up with a one-of-a-kind Online - Offline Hybrid Ashtanga Yoga Certification Module. This TTC module is divided into 2 parts - 14 days online followed by 10 days of full residential classes at TheYogaShala.
Schedule -
The course starts - 7th of every month; Ends - 30th day of that month.
The 14-day Online training module section includes:-
- 1.5 hours of Asana Practice
- Anatomy & Physiology classes
- Basic principles Of Human Movements & Fitness
- Other Q&A
The 10-day Offline training module section Schedule (Timetable given above).
Note -
- A student has to attend 10 days of TheYogaShala for completing the course successfully.
- Enrolled students are expected to complete their 10-day contact period at the TheYogaShala within 30 days of completing their online training
- The physical format of study material will be provided at the TheYogaShala itself.
Fees -
- 45000/- INR Registration Fee Only.
- Course Fee is Additional. ( Applicable for both the Online - Offline Hybrid module as well as Full Residential TTC Course. )
- The students are expected to pay the complete course fees in advance for the Online - Offline Hybrid Ashtanga Yoga Certification Module.
- For and during in- campus training please note that
- Visa, Master and major Credit or Debit cards can be used in major shops and restaurants. Many ATMs (Cash Machines) are available but the amount of money you can withdraw at one time is only 10,000 INR/transaction.
- We can help you to exchange money with nominal currency exchange charges. Please avoid money exchange from any Indian airports as they give very low rates.
Exam and Certification-
- Teaching exam, Mysore style exam, Pranayama and Theory exam.
- A minimum score of 80% marks is required to clear all exams.
- The certificate will be given only when you score the requisite marks in all exams and follow the rules & regulations thoroughly.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- ATTENDANCE, EXAM AND CERTIFICATION –
- Students have to be 18 years old to attend the course.
- Having 90% attendance in all the classes is crucial and we recommend not skipping any sessions.Only (if) those facing any health issues are allowed to skip certain classes and relax.
- At the Programme’s end, each student should take a practical and theoretical exam. It is critical to achieve a minimum of 60% on both exams. Certificates for Teacher Training Courses will be awarded to students based on their involvement, performance, class attendance during the training period, and exam results.
- EXCLUSION
We are not responsible for travel plans, loss or damage of personal belongings of the students and any injuries /physical & mental conditions developed in the pre and post-course duration.

TheYogaShala: Full Residential Module
TheYogaShala was founded with the sole intention of improving human health, relationships, and making society a better place to live. TheYogaShala's uplifting and welcoming vibes strive to make you a better person, which will help you become a better professional or teacher.
Schedule -
The course commences on the 7th of every month and ends on the 30th day of that month.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
Rules and guidelines of TheYogaShala premises, practice hall, accommodation and kitchen should be followed strictly.
Housing & In-Shala Premises
- Accommodation will be provided until the 28th of the course attending month.
- Keep the accommodation clean.
- Accommodation will be cleaned twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday), other days as a part of Karma Yoga you have to clean your room by taking turns.
- Playing loud music and disturbing the neighbours /roommates is strictly prohibited.
- Do not burn incense in the room.
- Do not move the furniture and do not stick anything on the wall or make it dirty.
- Leave your footwear outside.
- Drinking alcohol, eating non-vegetarian food, or smoking cigarettes is strictly prohibited in-Shala premises.
- You are responsible for your belongings; we take no responsibility for any belongings lost.
- Strict silence from 9 pm to 8 am should be maintained in-Shala premises.
- Switch off the lights and fan while coming to class and while going out.
- Carry the keys provided while going out; otherwise, you will be locked outside. Loss of keys incurs you Rs.2, 000 INR fine.
- Lock the ground floor door while going out/ coming in.
- Before sleeping lock the ground floor door and switch off kitchen and hall lights and fan.
- Washing machine allowed for personal usage but minimum wash load: 10 to 15 clothes.
- After showering wipe off the water.
- Do not flush tissue or sanitary items.
- Any damage to fittings, furniture or any 'TheYogaShala' belongings caused by you will be charged extra.
- TheYogaShala has limited internet data. Avoid uploading and downloading large files.
Kitchen
- Use purifier water to warm the water in a kettle.
- Keep the kitchen counter, sink and dining table clean.
- Put dry waste in the 'Green' bin and wet waste in the 'Yellow' bin.
- Wash the plates, cups and other utensils after use and keep them in the same place.
- Do not waste the food or store any food in the fridge.
- Take your turns and wash the containers in which you get the food.

South Indian food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) will be provided from Monday to Friday (3rd to 27th).
- Breakfast - South Indian breakfast like Idly, Upma, Pongal, Lemon Rice and many more.
- Lunch - Rice, Sambar and Vegetable Salad.
- Dinner - Chapattis and Curry or Vegetable Salad.
Practice Hall
- Leave the footwear outside.
- Keep the practice hall clean.
- Do not eat or drink anything except water, as it attracts ants.
- Do not leave your mats after practice.
- Keep the blocks, straps and other props in the same place after use and do not take them outside.
- Keep the cushions properly in their place after use.
- While practicing if the mat shreds/ the rubber dust, you have to clean it.
Classes
- You have to be in class on time.
- All classes are mandatory; the only exception can be made during illness.
- Mobiles or any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside classes.
- Recording the classes by audio, video or photos is strictly prohibited.
- If you have any doubts you have to ask the concerned teacher directly.
- Do not disturb the class, by asking questions in between.
TheYogaShala reserves the right to dismiss the student from the course or to deny the certification for the following reasons:-
- Violent behaviour, sexual misbehaviour, disrespecting teachers, non-commitment to the program, drugs or alcohol consumption, disregard to the silence rule, etc.
- Everyone is expected to clear all payments within the first week of the course.
- If any student leaves the course before completion, Fee is non-refundable.
- TheYogaShala is not responsible for any injury, illness, accidents or any unexpected consequences within and outside TheYogaShala premises.
In-Shala Facilities
Applicable for full residential as well as for the offline section of the hybrid module.
Accommodation & Food
Accommodation will be provided from the 7th to 29th of the course attending month in-Shala premises or around TheYogaShala in walkable distance. TheYogaShala is located 25-40mins away from the Goa International Airport & Madgaon Railway Station. Please note that the cost includes a one-time pick-up from the airport to TheYogaShala.

Travelling information
- Passport: Make sure your passport is valid at least for 6 months, from the arrival date in India. Keep your passport safe and it’s advisable to keep a copy on your phone or email; in case of loss of passport.
- Visa: Visa is necessary for all foreigners to enter India. Tourist E-Visa is valid for 60 days in India. Easy online application and confirmation email will be sent within 72 hours, which you need to print and show to the Immigration Officer in India. About 120 countries are eligible. - You can’t get a student visa, for doing the month-long yoga course in an ashram. Student Visas are only for long-term academic courses in universities/colleges. Sometimes, students cancel the trip due to delays in getting the visa, after buying flight tickets and paying deposits.
- Insurance: It is better to get insurance that covers your travel and health jointly while you are in India.
- Flight Ticket: Flight rates are not the same for all the airlines/ routes, and there could be a price difference for weekdays and weekends. You might get a cheaper ticket by adjusting your travel dates.
- Nearest International Airport: Goa International Airport is the nearest airport to TheYogaShala premises.
What to Bring
- Yoga Mat: Bringing Personal Yoga Mat is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
- Clothes: Bring enough comfortable clothes suitable for Asana practice and theory class because after asana practice you need to take shower and change clothes. Sometimes you might have to take shower twice. Also, please carry light warm clothes in case if you feel cold.
- Bedding: We provide bed sheets, pillows, and light blankets. It can be changed on demand, though carrying a personal towel for your own comfort is advised.
- Toiletries: Either carry toiletries (soap/body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)/ buy these in the supermarket or organic store around the Shala. Bring washing powder to wash your clothes in the washing machine.
- For Women: Bring feminine hygiene products which you prefer or you can buy in a supermarket nearby.
Along with this, you might also carry, Notebook & pen, Water Bottle, Coffee / Tea powder (which you can prepare in the kitchen), OTC medicine which suits you (for headache, fever, etc.) and other kits you might need.
